Thank you and farewell

I was 12 years old when I first started reviewing books on this blog in 2016. A lot has happened since that first post.

My book reviews have appeared in newspapers like The Sunday Telegraph, on blogs like Children’s Books Daily, and on the Inside A Dog website.

I spent a year as a member of the #LoveOzYA committee.

My writing was published in a bestselling book.

I was quoted in the 2018 Australian Society of Authors’ Colin Simpson Memorial Lecture.

My brother Book Boy Jr joined me as a book reviewer.

And I’ve read hundreds and hundreds of books.

In short, it’s been an amazing experience.

Now I’m in year 11 at school, and I’m still reading a lot, but mostly books for school, and fiction and non-fiction for adults.

I’ve also become more involved with my other passion: music.

Meet Joe Visser

Since I recorded my first EP in 2017, I’ve appeared at many festivals and events, written more songs, and released a new single at the end of last year.

I’m now focusing on recording my second EP, which I hope to launch later this year, and on performing more gigs. Then, of course, there’s school…

So it’s time for me to step away from reviewing books, and to say thank you for your support.

Thank you to the thousands of people who have visited this blog, to the publishers who have sent me books to review, and to the authors who write amazing stories.

All of my book reviews, and those of my brother Book Boy Jr, will remain here for now. I hope you find a great read (for you or your kids) among them.

I hope that you will follow my music journey on Instagram or Facebook. You can listen to my latest single here on Spotify, Apple Music, or Triple J Unearthed.
